I'm thrilled to be directing another play by the hilarious and talented Larry Phillips. This one concerns Christopher Abandonato, who's got a dead-end construction job, a wife who puts him in his place, and an out of work brother-in-law laving in his basement. But he's a dreamer, and he's convinced buying abandoned storage units is his ticket to becoming rich. He just needs to find that something that will change his life forever. A dark comedy about money, family, and opportunity.

Last night we presented Transfiguration by Michael Miller, starring Gary Hilborn as part of the United Solo Festival at Theatre Row. It was my first experience directing a solo show and it was a great experience. The play
follows Ralph Belard, a rather ordinary white collar employee in a tech company, prepares to go to work one morning and hears odd noises from the street: his neighbors are randomly shooting one other. He observes the carnage and, happening on an old rifle, joins in. He finds himself the last survivor and, relieved, responds in a typically American way. It's a fascinating story about violence and how we perceive and relate to it. We're hoping to have the chance to present it again, so stay tuned! |
