Last night we presented Transfiguration by Michael Miller, starring Gary Hilborn as part of the United Solo Festival at Theatre Row. It was my first experience directing a solo show and it was a great experience. The play
follows Ralph Belard, a rather ordinary white collar employee in a tech company, prepares to go to work one morning and hears odd noises from the street: his neighbors are randomly shooting one other. He observes the carnage and, happening on an old rifle, joins in. He finds himself the last survivor and, relieved, responds in a typically American way. It's a fascinating story about violence and how we perceive and relate to it. We're hoping to have the chance to present it again, so stay tuned!
