This week brought the debut of another great project with Kirt, Snapshots of Weegee, which debuted on zoom as part of the Dramatists Guild Southwest Footlight Series.
Weegee, the (in)famous black-and-white tabloid photographer, aka Arthur Fellig, graphically captured grisly deaths and gaudy news events in the ‘40’s and ‘50’s. His obsession to capture the next photo where calamity collides with curiosity, derails his personal life. Constantly chasing his dream, he fails to see Wilma Wilcox, the woman who loves him for fifty years. Eventually, Weegee becomes the next story of the failed American Dream.
