I'm thrilled to announce that after being a part of the workshop at White Heron over the summer I'm continuing my work as assistant director on the full production of About Alice at Brooklyn's Theatre for a New Audience. We officially open on Sunday and I couldn't be more excited to be telling this story in this beautiful space with such a great team. The show runs until February 3rd and tickets are available here!

I'm thrilled to be directing another play by the hilarious and talented Larry Phillips. This one concerns Christopher Abandonato, who's got a dead-end construction job, a wife who puts him in his place, and an out of work brother-in-law laving in his basement. But he's a dreamer, and he's convinced buying abandoned storage units is his ticket to becoming rich. He just needs to find that something that will change his life forever. A dark comedy about money, family, and opportunity.
We've got one more weekend left and people are loving it so far! Tickets are available here Last night we presented Transfiguration by Michael Miller, starring Gary Hilborn as part of the United Solo Festival at Theatre Row. It was my first experience directing a solo show and it was a great experience. The play
follows Ralph Belard, a rather ordinary white collar employee in a tech company, prepares to go to work one morning and hears odd noises from the street: his neighbors are randomly shooting one other. He observes the carnage and, happening on an old rifle, joins in. He finds himself the last survivor and, relieved, responds in a typically American way. It's a fascinating story about violence and how we perceive and relate to it. We're hoping to have the chance to present it again, so stay tuned! Back on the boards with another short play in a festival, this time as part of NYShort Play Fest. It's a funny, devious little play called Mania and I'm so excited to get to share it with audiences. It closes this Thursday, the 19th at 3:30 at the American Theater of Actors.
I'm so excited to be directing Lauren Winnenberg's play Coming Out at NYSummerFest at the Hudson Guild Theater. We got a great response at our opening last night and we play two more times, tonight at 6:15 and Sunday the 16th at 8:30. Tickets are available here.
It's been an incredibly busy and productive summer back assisting at White Heron on Daddy Long Legs and About Alice as well as helping out with the rest of the season. We also mounted a full production of Nantucket: The MusACKal to huge success! It got great reviews and was extended a week and sold out through the majority of the run with lines down the block to get tickets during our final week! Can't wait to get back to it and make it even better for next summer.
I'm so thrilled to be back in Nantucket making my directing debut with White Heron! I've been working with them for years and am incredibly excited to finally be at the helm on such a beautiful classic story. It's been a quick process but the show has come together beautifully and it's been a joy to work with a cast of white Heron favorites. The show re-opens for its second weekend today! Tickets are available here! I'm thrilled to announce I'm co-directing a new production of Clifford Odets' Golden Boy along with Aaron Latham. It's a beautiful story of the perils and and heartache of finding and following your passions.
Joe Bonaparte’s potential to become a concert violinist hits a detour when boxing manager Tom Moody and fight promoter Roxy Gottlieb steer him towards greatness in the boxing ring. As his athletic star begins to rise, Joe is torn between loyalty to his art and family, and the allure of fame and fortune. As mobster Eddie Fuseli promises him glory, and girlfriend Lorna Moon (Moody’s fiancé) promises him love, Joe faces the biggest dilemma of his life: to win the crown or to set himself free. The production also supports a group called StoPD (Support and Training to Overcome Parkinson's Disease), and will be a testament to the strength of the Parkinson's community as the cast features professional actors who are living with Parkinson's disease in two of the major roles. In addition, many of our production and creative team members have Parkinson's, and have devoted themselves to creating this unique and memorable production. It's such an honor to get to bring this story to life and I would love to see you there. I'm loving being back in rehearsal with the team from Orphans, plus some great new additions. Tickets are available here for the run, from tomorrow, November 9th to the 19th. I'm so thrilled to back at Long Wharf continuing the journey with Matthew Barber's Fireflies, and assisting Gordon Edelstein again here in New Haven. It's a beautiful production of a sweet and incredibly funny story!
Eleanor Bannister, a retired schoolteacher, lives a sleepy life in tiny Groverdell, Texas. Until one day, when walking alone through the brambles barefoot and in her nightgown, she encounters Abel Brown, a mysterious drifter. Brown has been wandering around town, looking for houses to fix and, rumor has it, single women to talk to. Brown is nothing but a drifter, but despite their obvious differences, Eleanor and Abel find themselves drawn to each other. This beautiful new romance by Matthew Barber, Tony Award-nominated author of Enchanted April, shows that connection can be found in the unlikeliest of places and in the unlikeliest of ways. The show opens tomorrow and runs through November 5th. Click here for tickets and more information! This post is a bit delayed but we recently wrapped up the run on my most recent project, Nick Payne's Constellations, at White Heron. It's always great to be back assisting Lynne Bolton and this was a particularly special production. Getting to work with incredible actors on an deeply amazing script is always a pleasure! And audiences and critics loved it, calling it "a powerful rendering" and the performers "astonishing."
